We switched to the Coleman matresses for camping about 6 years ago and those make sleeping in a tent much more enjoyable. The two twin mattresses fit perfectly into our 4-person car camping tent with some room to spare on the side for small bags. We wouldn’t want to go back to the regular camping sleeping pads. I wish the zipper would hold the two matresses closer together since we have a 9-year old who gets to sleep in the middle and was complaining to fall in the the hole. The best solution we found so far is to put a foam pad over the middle and a thick blanket to cover both mattresses. The blanket also helps as a insulating layer as other reviewers complain about being cold.
My main complaint is that these mattresses only last about 2 years with moderate camping. We use them about 5 times a year (2 nights each) and we just bought our 3rd set of Coleman mattresses. They always started leaking on the side and it is sometimes almost impossible to find the hole. Ducktape works great if you’re lucky to locate the leak. Now we started taking a spare mattress camping since it would make a rough night sleeping on the ground. We do have 20-30 year old inflatable mattresses for backpacking and they they still hold the air as they were new. There is no excuse for those thick, heavy, bulky mattresses to start leaking after only 2 years of moderate use.

After only having for 2 months, a huge bulge developed in both air mattresses within a week of each other. ( see pictures) Apparently something separates internally, as it will make a popping noise, and the bulge will get bigger. It is past the 30 day return policy, so I can’t return it to Amazon. It has a one year warranty, so I submitted a warranty claim to Coleman. A week later, no one from Coleman has contacted me, let alone provided a replacement.
Update: Eventually I did get a replacement from Coleman shipped to me free of charge. I haven’t used it yet, as I bought two twin intex air mattresses from [email protected] They have held up well.

I am extremely disappointed in these Coleman air mattresses. See the photos of two failed air mattresses. We took these all the way to California to have a place to sleep while selling an empty estate house. We were sleeping inside. We did everything right…….had extra blankets under the mattress…..had a mattress pad and extra blankets on top……and used a brand new Coleman Quick Pump. We bought a pair of these that can connect or be used individually. After only two uses, I awoke to a popping noise and then another about an hour later. The entire center four-cell section of the mattress has delaminated to form two huge bubbles on the top and bottom of the mattress. Three days later my wife’s mattress had an identical problem. Some cells separated and formed giant bubbles. I have used Coleman camping equipment my whole life without any problems so this is really frustrating. We are now sleeping on cut-up pieces of carpet padding until we can find another mattress. Shame, Coleman, for making a defective product. SEE THE PHOTOS AND MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION BEFORE BUYING.

I bought two of these a year ago when I building up our own camping supplies. It was my understanding that Coleman was the gold standard when it came to outdoor equipment. Based on this and a couple other purchases, I’m beginning to think this is no longer the case.
One set is fine. The other must have been mismanufacturered. One mattress has a drawstring case attached. On the other set, the case is centered. This one is attached haphazardly on the side third, making it impossible to fold, roll, and secure the mattresses in the case.
The mattress that does not have the case / cover attached deflates overnight. It has done this since it was new.
Very disappointing because it’s not as if it is a cheap Walmart brand

This is hands down the best air mattress we have ever purchased, and we have been through a lot of air mattresses in the last 10 years! As far as function, it is nice that you can use this as 2 twins, strapped together for a larger mattress, or stacked on top of each other for a double high twin. We have not used them as a double high, only as 2 twins or strapped together side by side. When you strap them together, there is an annoying gap in the middle, but we easily solved this problem by rolling up a blanket and shoving it in the crack. These are also the best quality air mattresses we have owned. We have purchased numerous Intex and Coleman mattresses in the past. Every time we end up with a leak or hole after a handful of uses. I ended up buying this set, we used it for a 4 day camping trip, no issues. Then we moved to a different state and sold a lot of our furniture. My husband and I had to sleep on these air mattresses for 4 months before we were able to purchase a new bed. I was amazed at how well they held up! Usually you have to add air every few nights, but these babies held air like a dream, I only had to re-inflate a couple of times over a 3 month period. We had them strapped together side by side, with a rolled up blanket stuffed in the middle crack, and it made a darn fine substitute for a real bed. Finally, after 3 months of sleeping on every single night, with 2 small children bouncing on them daily and a dog and cat occasionally trying to jump on top of as well, we sprung a leak. I was so impressed with how well these mattresses held up and for so long, that I hopped on Amazon and bought another set! I can’t say enough about these air mattresses, we have owned a lot of different air mattresses and these are the winner!
