- The Roadie 24 is 10% lighter in weight and holds 20% more than a Roadie 20, it even performs 30% better thermally

- ROTOMOLDED CONSTRUCTION – Evolved to be thinner and lighter-weight for easier transport, while still incredibly tough
- QUICKLATCH – Flexible, simple, and built for quick, one-handed cooler access
- The Roadie 24 holds 18 cans with a 2:1 ice-to-can ratio or 24 lbs of just ice. It measures 16 1/2” L × 14 1/2”W × 17 1/2” H

I have a camper van and the frig leaves a lot to be desired. So have tried several different configurations of Yetis.
This looked like they designed it for the space where I put the roadie 20. More capacity, less footprint.. it wud be perfect if it kept ice they way the 20 did. Nope. Filled it with cold beer (10 cans), a bottle of wine, tons of ice and two 2lb Yeti ice Packs. Within 12 hours (and not opening it), half the ice melted and ice pack mostly fluid. Disappointed for sure. I’m going it one more try over a weekend in the van and then request to return it…
I think the new latches don’t close tight enough…
Update: not nearly as good as the other Yetis I have. After 8 hours, without opening it, the ice is starting to melt together into big chunks. In order to use the ice in a drink, I have to use the end of a wooden spoon to chip away
at it!! And yes, I always pre-chill it. And I use two 2 lb Yetis ice blocks. And I always put COLD beer in it. So it’s back to the Roadie 20 for my weekends at work. And I do admit, not have a drain is a pain. 10/31/20.

I had to really talk myself into spending $200 on a small cooler, but I thought Yeti was supposed to be some high quality brand. I was wrong. The plastic seems fine (probably only because rotomolding is done by machines, not people), but the gasket looks like a cheap afterthought glued on by foreign child labor. It’s not one continuous piece, the two ends don’t line up, and it’s held together with a piece of tape.
Returning is a hassle, so I might test it using one of the methods I saw on the web to determine if it works well enough to keep, but I will never buy Yeti again. Save your money and buy a well-known “ordinary” competitor’s equivalent products for half the price.

This Yeti cooler is an incredible upgrade from the Roadie 20. It can fit more, has better insulation, and is lighter. If you are on the fence about this just buy it. It will keep your food/drinks colder than any other cooler out there. Plus it comes with some cool stickers.

I work in construction and bought this to replace my playmate cooler.
Day one: filled with ice and covered up water bottles. Temps low 80s.
Day two: low 90s and cooler was in my truck all day so got very hot. Plenty of ice left, drained a couple of inches of water out. Water bottles still ice cold.
Day three, put lunch in along with more cold drinks. Cooler stayed on my truck seat all day in about 90 degree temps. Still plenty of ice left and items still cold.
Day four temps in the 80s and again cooler sat in my front seat in high temperatures. Drinks still cold. I did drain off another couple inches of water and topped off the ice.

Had my Roadie for 7 months and love it! Wife is just as happy with it since it can hold wine and prosecco bottles. One thing to note, I find a really cool deal on dry goods trays that are compatible with this cooler. You can use 2 trays side by side with these. Not sure how to post a link but just search for beast 2-pack of yeti 24 compatible dry goods tray and they should show up. They are clear and have air holes for the cold air to circulate. Enjoy!
